from Mathias Brandt, July 18th, 2014 With 22 percent more revenue and a $3.4 billion profit in the second quarter, Google is flourishing. All that money is stemming from the search engine’s thriving advertising sector and the 25% increase in the paid click rate between April and June bears testament to that. Remarkably, however, the price of Google ads are falling. In fact, the average cost per click (CPC) has been declining for over two years, falling 6 percent in the second quarter of 2014. The last positive change occurred in the third quarter of 2011 when it rose 5 percent. All quarterly figures can be found at Google. Consumers are finding and purchasing products/services online but the trust or relevance in the ad sometimes hinders the click-through. In a report from Emarketer, online advertising has become more influential and consumers aren't bypassing relevant ads. They are actually clicking on them. Competition for English Keywords and content is around 50 to 80%, according to current reports. In an article on Search Engine Watch, Christian Arno explains how it is possible to achieve higher rankings using foreign language keywords.
By all accounts, I would say that Charlie Sheen is winning. He is getting an amazing amount of exposure from his recent online rants, tweets, and talk show/guest appearances.
And to keep the feeding frenzy alive, major media outlets have been there to report every detail and to discuss what makes Charlie tick…. Or at least offer a warning that he is a ticking time bomb that might explode any minute. No such thing as bad press… |
